A Nigerian diplomat has been attacked in a suspected hijacking
attempt in Johannesburg. One suspect was killed by the driver of the diplomat
who was also was wounded after a shoot-out in Magliessig, north of
Johannesburg.
The incident occurred early on Saturday morning when four men
cornered the diplomat and his driver at a complex in the area. They had
followed his vehicle home from the OR Tambo International Airport with
unregistered blue BMW. After collecting their possessions a shoot out ensued.
South African Police has arrested one suspect and are searching
for the two who escaped. The diplomat, who is yet to be named, is being
attended to by a psychologist on the scene.
