Ombatse crisis: Two Eggon men killed in reprisal attack

In what looked like another round of bloodshed, no fewer than two Eggon youths were feared dead on Tuesday in the hands of people suspected to be Alago youth in Mararraban Obi, Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
An eyewitness who gave his name as Ewuga Isah told Daily Independent that the incident occurred at exactly 7:30 am when he met his now deceased kinsmen on their way to Obi to see what was left of their property following the crisis that besieged the
area barely two weeks ago.
Isah gave the victims’ names as Michael Habbakuk, 27 and Damalu Godiya, 25. He said he has cautioned them of the threat by the Alago youths to stage a reprisal attack on any Eggon man they set eyes on in the area, but they disregarded his caution and rather pledged to be careful as they insisted on going to the town.

His words: “When I finished inspecting my farm, I decided to go after them and to my surprise the house they went to was surrounded by 5 stern-looking Alago men who brought them out and hung them on a mango
tree in front of the house for several hours making sure they were all dead.”
